Woo
Hoo! 20,000+ page views for the CFF.
Thank you, you genius humanists. You are the very best of all Patient Readers.
Well
Folks . . .
Depression
phase of the cycle setting in . . . I'll
try to be lucid in my cynicism.
Peshawar
. . . Pakistan . . . The Taliban . . .
St. John's Cathedral, Peshawar, Pakistan . . .
yeah, a christian church
80+
murdered children.
Jesus
Fucking Nuns and all . . .
How
the fuck does that work, Patient Reader?
How do we find it in our hearts to even watch a school full of teachers
and students all shot up into pieces like that?
Sure.
We are outraged when the Harrises and
the Klebolds shoot up a school in suburban Colorado.
Or
a certain Kinkel in Thurston, Oregon- whaddup, Kip?
Sing it sister!
How
about 20 babies in Connecticut?
Movie-goers,
again in Colorado.
No
wonder they legalized weed, there. Mellow out, dudes!
141+
dead in a Peshawar abattoir. Over 80 of
them school kids. Taliban. Jesus.
They
say it's revenge against the army's continued attacks against the Taliban
fighters in the region. Naturally, you
kill the kids.
Now
look. It doesn't make any sense, nor is
there any semblance of reason real or imagined in this, or any scenario where
murder, especially kindercide, is committed by Homo sapiens sapiens. Intelligent man.
But
it's what we do. Humans, I mean. Humanity, ironically, has none- or at least,
very little.
Throughout
our bloody, savage history, we have always found it necessary for violence and
the subjugation, if not outright destruction, of those we deem foe. For whatever reason.
Remember,
we are to rip the children from the womb and dash their heads on the rocks . .
.
Even
that sweet and loving tome we know as the Holy Bible is rife with massacre and
rape; sexual abuse of children; bad people doing bad things.
Even
god, at times, laments the evil he perpetrates.
So
what do we do with this terrible knowledge?
What do we do when we realize
that humanity takes one step forward and two steps back?
How
do we reconcile the WHOS we want to be with the critters we actually are?
How
do we hope and dream?
Are
the majority of humans filled with a sort of . . . Super-optimism? Do we
think that we are actually inherently good, even though as toddlers we must be
instructed not to hit our little brothers?
How we must be educated in every
possible way to demonstrate proper social mores?
Or
do we? Don't
we already know- doesn't our genetic code already tell us- that killing is
wrong? Why do we fall on different points of the
spectrum from one another? Why do some of us find it easy to kill a deer
and yet killing another person is an abhorrent act?
Why
do I catch those goddam creepy fucking spiders and set them free in my
garden? Twenty years ago they deserved the bottom of
my shoe. Now I realize I don't have the
right to extinguish life of any kind . . . in any form.
Will
I ever have an answer?
What
I do know is walking through a school
and shooting kids is wrong. I mean, as a
scientist I even look at it from an evolutionary point of view:
How
many would have been engineers, building the new great structures and spans of
the world?
How
many would have expanded our knowledge of science?
Which
one would have cured cancer?
Well,
we’ll never fucking know because we just can't seem to stop killing.
What
can we do about the here and now, though?
Can we punish anyone? Would it
even matter if we could, or did?
Do
we now just sit by and hope it doesn't happen again? Has that ever worked, hoping that the Taliban
would evolve a conscience and see the errors in their ways when it comes to
doing the right thing? Has that ever
worked with humanity in general?
This
isn't the last atrocity we're going to see. Not by a long shot. Perhaps we need to simply inure ourselves to
these periodic interruptions in our societal evolution. Maybe
we just need to say, “Wow. Glad that
wasn't my kid . . .”
Maybe
we should just get used to it . . .
Cold,
no?
I'm
not here to solve our problems, Patient Reader, nor am I under any assumptions
that I am capable of doing so.
As
the Cunning Fennec Fox I am only hoping to make us think. To approach a problem as intelligent men and
women, Homo sapiens sapiens, and perhaps
some of you who are undoubtedly smarter than I, can fix all that is oh so
broken.
Ok.
Moving on.
The
ruble closed yesterday at 59.6168. The
“psychological barrier” is 60- if you're able to extrapolate its meaning. I
have faith in y’all.
So
it's said that this is due to the falling prices in oil worldwide. You know oil;
its economy is governed by the American dollar?
Anyway . . .
Which
begs the question: is America pushing the price of oil down to intentionally
harm the Russian economy? Do you think
we would really do such a thing?
We
can't afford to attack Russia with conventional weapons of war . . . But we can
certainly damage Russia's, or anyone's economy thusly.
Wouldn't
it be nice, since it's so easy, to drop gasoline prices just so middle-class
America can better make ends meet? Aw
but, now I'm just being Cuh-Razy.
Sony
caved to censorship in the form of terrorism.
Over a comedic satire movie certain to sweep the Oscars . . .
Right? I mean, Seth Rogen and James
Franco? The genius behind Pineapple
Express? How can you go wrong with a
production that equals the brilliance of The Godfather or Schindler’s List?
DPRK worries that it makes the Supreme Leadership appear silly . . .
Really? Have they seen themselves?
Now
North Korea is seeking to form a joint probe to find the true perpetrators,
like a Tweaker who will steal your shit and then help you look for it.
Or O.J. looking for the real killer.
Boko
Haram invaded another village, killing all the males and taking the women and
female children. Remember, Moses allowed
Joshua to do the same. Straight Old
Testament and 21st Century shit. Oh well . . . Maybe they won't get raped.
Kurds
break the ISIS mountain siege. Now
they're dealing with mines. You know,
the blowy uppy kind. Yay, humanity!
There
was this little thing called the Ottawa Treaty (not to be confused with the
Ottawa Conference) in which there was a gathering of nations discussing the
banning of anti-personnel mines.
One
of the arguments is that when a conflict ceases, the mines are left behind, unintentionally
“found” by the likes of farmers preparing fields . . . or by children playing.
35
countries, which include China and Russia, are non-signatories to the
treaty/ban. Oh yeah. The U.S. didn't sign it, either.
Amazing
One
Japanese scientist involved in the stem cell research fuck-up resigned; another
was found dead in his lab of an apparent suicide.
Dude
shoots two NYC cops while they were sitting in their car . . . Then he shoots
himself . . .
You
know better than anyone else, Patient Reader, that I could wax philosophic as
infinitum, but I have to get going on some more photography projects.
I
wish you all well and Peace; good health and strength as we tread water in the Dark
Sea we call Earth.
I
will see you soon, and give those sister-fucking Repubs what’s what when I do.
Always,
The
Cunning Fennec Fox
I'm afraid I've lost all my hopes for "humanity"...
ReplyDeleteIn winter, I take the spiders I find in the house into the garage. It`s too cold outside, isn`t it? :-)
